Philippe Coutinho expresses his delight at helping Liverpool notch up a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park

Philippe Coutinho could not hide his delight at seeing Liverpool notch up a dramatic 1-0 win at Everton in the Premier League on Monday night.

After a goalless first half in which neither team were able to carve out many chances, Sadio Mane scored the winner deep into stoppage time.

The summer signing reacted quickest to fire home from close range in the box after Daniel Sturridge’s shot rebounded off the post and into his path.

Coutinho is currently sidelined due to injury but was cheering on his team-mates from home and was clearly delighted to see them pick up the three points in such dramatic circumstances.

The Liverpool playmaker posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Well done ⚽️✅ 👏🏽🔴”

Liverpool’s win moved them up to second place in the Premier League table and left them six points behind Chelsea heading into Christmas.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are next in action when they host Stoke at Anfield on 27 December.
