Paul Merson states prediction for Crystal Palace v Man United

The former Arsenal midfielder is tipping Manchester United to ease to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace

Paul Merson is backing Manchester United to ease to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils were 1-0 winners against top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon after Henrikh Mkhitaryan netted a first-half winner to seal three points for the hosts.

The 20-time English champions ended a run of three successive 1-0 stalemates thanks to their morale-boosting victory over Tottenham after Manchester United drew with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United.

Jose Mourinho’s side are six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City after Pep Guardiola’s men suffered a surprise 4-2 defeat by defending Premier League champions Leicester City.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is tipping Manchester United to ease to a 2-1 victory over Palace in south east London on Wednesday night.

“I have been impressed with United. They have really turned the corner, they haven’t had much luck but they got a good result against Spurs and they look decent,” Merson told Sky Sports.

Merson added: “Palace, though, are letting in goals for fun. To give them their due, it’s open and attacking football, and they were unlucky the other day with that Robert Snodgrass penalty which was bordering on ridiculous.

“Wilfried Zaha has looked outstanding recently, I can’t remember the last time he had a bad game, but they are playing his way.”

Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 13 points behind leaders Chelsea.
