Danny Murphy delivers glowing verdict on Man United signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The former Liverpool midfielder heaps praise on Manchester United playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Danny Murphy has hailed Manchester United signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a top player.
The Armenia international completed a £30m move to Manchester United from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
Mkhitaryan made his first Premier League start in the Manchester derby in September but lasted a mere 45 minutes before he was taken off.
The £30m summer signing has come into his own at Old Trafford in recent weeks after impressive performances against Feyenoord and West Ham United.
The playmaker started his second Premier League game at Goodison Park last weekend as Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw with Everton.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Murphy explained why he is big admirer of the United attacker.
“He is a super player. He can see a pass. He is sharp and he is strong,” Murphy told BBC One’s Football Focus show.
“I can’t understand why he hasn’t adapted more quickly. He has put some blame on himself which is nice to see a player taking some responsibility. Hopefully we will see the best of him now.”
Mkhitaryan was the third of Mourinho’s four summer signings after the Red Devils boss signed Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Red Devils appointed Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor in the summer after a fifth-place finish last term.
