Danny Murphy: We’re starting to see best of this Chelsea player

The former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder heaps praise on Chelsea star Pedro Rodriguez

Danny Murphy believes Chelsea are starting to get the best out of Pedro Rodriguez.

The Spain international has been in superb form in recent weeks in the Blues side following the appointment of Antonio Conte as manager in the summer.

Pedro had scored three goals and had made four assists in his last eight Premier League appearances ahead of the visit of Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.

The World Cup winner endured a tough start to his Stamford Bridge career after Chelsea snapped up the Barcelona midfielder in a £21m deal in 2015.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder netted seven times in 29 Premier League appearances in his first season in the English top flight.

However, Pedro has already scored three times in the current campaign as he looks to eclipse his 2015-16 tally.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Murphy explained why he has been impressed with Pedro’s performances so far this season.

“Pedro is looking like what we expected from him. He is a super player. His confidence is back,” Murphy told BBC Sport’s Football Focus show.
