Danny Murphy: What I really like about Chelsea’s Eden Hazard
The former Liverpool midfielder hails Chelsea forward Eden Hazard
Danny Murphy has explained why he is a big fan of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.
The Belgium international has rediscovered some of his best form under new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte this season following the Italian’s appointment in the summer.
Hazard failed to get on the score sheet in Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon but the 25-year-old still produced another mesmerising performance.
The former Lille man has scored eight times and has made one assist in 16 Premier League appearances this season to help to hoist the west London side to the top of the table.
Chelsea haven’t lost a Premier League game since September as the Belgian forward helped the Blues ease to victories over title rivals Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Murphy has hailed Hazard’s decision-making after the attacking midfielder’s excellent performance.
“His decision-making for a forward player – that’s what I really like. He knows when to shoot or make a pass,” Murphy told BBC One’s Match of the Day show.
“He is playing as well as when he won the player of the year. He goes past people so easily with that low centre of gravity. He must be a nightmare to play against.”
Hazard moved to Chelsea from Ligue 1 side Lille in the 2012 summer transfer window.
The west London side will host Bournemouth in their next Premier League game on Boxing Day.
