Dietmar Hamann makes bold claim about Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool
The Liverpool legend likes the way Jurgen Klopp celebrates his players
Dietmar Hamann has claimed that the Liverpool players are more committed to their manager than any of their Premier League rivals.
Jurgen Klopp has transformed the Merseyside outfit into title challengers this season just over 12 months since Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
Liverpool were 4-1 winners against Stoke City on Tuesday after the Reds came from 1-0 down to secure three points ahead of the visit of Manchester City at Anfield on New Year’s Eve.
Klopp signed seven players in the summer transfer window as the German looked to stamp his authority on the Liverpool side ahead of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
Writing in his Paddy Power column, former Liverpool midfielder Hamann explained what make Klopp stand out in the Premier League.
“The way Jurgen Klopp celebrates with his players makes him stand out in the Premier League,” Hamann said.
“That’s not for everyone of course. I wouldn’t want to be hugged by the manager every other day. As a player I would have preferred more distance. But there’s a bond there which you don’t get at any other club. Those players would go through a brick wall for their manager – more so than any other club in the league.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season following Klopp’s appointment back in October 2015.
The Reds lost to Manchester City and Sevilla in the League Cup and the Europa League final.
