Eden Hazard: I’ve made this agreement with Diego Costa at Chelsea
Eden Hazard has joked that he will let Diego Costa win the golden boot this season as long as he wins the player of the year award
Eden Hazard has joked that he will let Diego Costa win the Premier League golden boot award and he will instead focus on winning the PFA player of the year prize.
Both Hazard and Costa have been in fine form for Chelsea so far this season and the duo found the net as Antonio Conte’s men came from a goal down to earn a 3-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday.
Costa has now scored 11 goals in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this term, but Hazard is close behind, with the Belgian having netted eight times in the top flight.
However, Hazard insists that he will not compete with Costa for the Premier League golden boot award this season.
Hazard is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “I said to Diego, ‘If I can score, I will’ but if he grabs the top scorer award, I will go for Player of the Year.
“Diego is in a good shape, he is scoring goals. We are all in good shape. We are full of confidence.
“But scoring records have never been important to me. I just hope to win the title at the end of the season.”
Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table after winning their last eight top-flight games on the spin.
