Ian Wright states prediction for Everton v Liverpool

Ian Wright is confident Liverpool will beat Everton in Monday night's Merseyside derby

Ian Wright is backing Liverpool to beat Everton in Monday night’s Merseyside derby.

The 18-time English champions will be looking to move to within six points of Chelsea after the current Premier League leaders eased to a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon thanks to Diego Costa’s first-half header.

Liverpool made a swift return to winning ways on Wednesday night following a 2-2 draw with West Ham United thanks to one of the standout away performances of the 2016-17 Premier League season after a 3-0 win against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Juragen Klopp’s side have only lost two Premier League games in the current campaign following defeats by Burnley and Bournemouth in the 2016-17 season.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, Wright backed Liverpool to ease to victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Monday night.

Asked if he expected Liverpool to win, Wright said: “I fancy that [Liverpool win]. I do.”
