Ray Parlour is backing Liverpool to beat Everton in Monday night’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The Toffees secured a morale-boosting win on Tuesday night after Wales defender Ashley Williams scored a late headed winner to seal a 2-1 victory over Arsenal at Goodison Park.
The 18-time English champions made a swift return to winning ways on Wednesday night thanks to a 3-0 victory over promoted side Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Adam Lallana scored either side of half-time to put Liverpool in charge, while Belgium international Divock Origi netted his fifth goal in five games in all competitions.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is backing Jurgen Klopp’s side to beat Everton on their manager’s first trip to Goodison Park in what should be an intriguing Merseyside derby on Monday night.
“Liverpool are playing so well at the moment. They’re so electric going forward. They’re keeping it solid in midfield. I’ve got a funny feeling Liverpool could get a result here and win the game,” Parlour told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.
Parlour added: “I’ve gone 2-1 Liverpool win.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table back in October 2015 after ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp replaced Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers following the Merseyside outfit’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
