Michael Owen states his prediction for Everton v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to Everton in the Premier League this Sunday
Michael Owen is expecting to see Manchester United be held to a 1-1 draw by Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
The Red Devils are aiming to get back to winning ways in the top flight after their frustrating 1-1 draw with West Ham at Old Trafford last Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s men did manage to secure a victory in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night with a thumping 4-1 win over West Ham to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
However, United have been far from convincing in recent weeks, and former Red Devils striker Owen believes that they could be on course to be held to a 1-1 draw by Everton this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Both sides had disappointing results last weekend and I’m finding it hard to split the sides at Goodison.
“Romelu Lukaku scored a hat-trick against United for West Brom in that daft 5-5 draw at the Hawthorns in Sir Alex’s last game in charge, but has yet to score for Everton against United in the Premier League in six games. The blues need a big game from their star striker.”
Manchester United are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season after they finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last term.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since the 2012-13 season.
