Ex-Arsenal striker: Why Liverpool are looking impressive in title race

The former Arsenal striker believes Liverpool are capable of etching out victories in the title race

Liverpool are looking very impressive in the Premier League title race, according to former Arsenal striker Ian Wright.

The Merseyside outfit were impressive 1-0 winners against Everton in the derby at Goodison Park last week thanks to Sadio Mane’s winner in the fourth minute of added time.

Liverpool are proving to be Chelsea’s closest rivals for the Premier League title this season despite the west London outfit extending their winning run to 14 games.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are the Premier League’s leading goal-scorers thanks to the form of his attacking players Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho.

Former Arsenal striker Wright admits that he has been impressed with Liverpool’s performances in the 2016-17 season, underlining his belief that Klopp’s side are genuine title contenders.

“Liverpool look impressive. They can win games. They can drag it out. They’ve got quality in the end to nick something,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.

Liverpool have only lost to Bournemouth and Burnley in the Premier League this season.
