Former Chelsea star credits Antonio Conte with making this big change at Cobham
Mark Schwarzer believes that Antonio Conte has got his Chelsea squad fitter than ever
Mark Schwarzer believes that Antonio Conte has got his Chelsea squad fitter than ever following his arrival at the club in the summer.
The Blues have been in fine form in the Premier League since Conte’s appointment as the club’s new manager over the summer.
The Italian’s side are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table and underlined their status as genuine Premier League title contenders with their impressive 3-1 comeback win at Manchester City on Saturday.
Chelsea’s form this season is in stark contrast to their performances last term, when the Blues ended up in 10th place in the table and without a trophy following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
And former Blues goalkeeper Schwarzer has given his take on the impact Conte has had since taking over at Chelsea.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the ex-goalkeeper said: “Conte has come in there, put his arm round people.
“There is unity, they want to play together. They’re fitter than they’ve every been. You saw it against Manchester City.
“It’s a testament to how they’re working and how determined they are to being successful.”
