Gary Lineker makes claim about Man United after 2-1 win over Middlesbrough

Gary Lineker reacts to Manchester United's dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Middlesbrough at Old Trafford

Gary Lineker claimed that Manchester United are showing shades of the “Fergie era” after they came from behind to seal a thrilling 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

After a goalless first half at Old Trafford, Grant Leadbitter gave the visitors the lead in the 66th minute when he drilled home a low finish.

Manchester United pressed and struggled to break down the visitors’ defence as they searched for an equaliser.

The leveller eventually came in the 85th minute when striker Anthony Martial slotted home to equalise.

And the winner came just moments later when Paul Pogba headed into the top corner from inside the box to earn Jose Mourinho’s men all three points.

It was Manchester United’s fifth win on the spin in the Premier League and continued their recent good form in the top flight.

And Lineker was impressed by the Red Devils’ resilience against Boro.
