Gary Lineker reacts to Diego Costa’s performance in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Man City

The Tottenham legend heaps praise on Chelsea striker Diego Costa

Gary Lineker believes Diego Costa is back to his very best form in a Chelsea shirt.

The Spain international scored in the west London side’s 3-1 win against title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Costa cancelled out Gary Cahill’s first-half own goal after the Blues forward placed a clinical finish past City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Willian and Eden Hazard secured three points for the visitors with goals on the counter-attack in the final 20 minutes in Eastlands.

The Brazilian-born forward has now scored 11 times and has made five assists in 14 Premier League games in the 2016-17 season so far.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker is under no illusion that Costa is now producing the performances synonymous with the Spanish striker in his first campaign in England in 2014-15.

Costa scored 12 times in 28 Premier League games in a disappointing 2015-16 season after he netted 20 times in his first campaign in the English top flight.
