Gary Lineker reacts to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal in Man United’s 3-1 win over Sunderland
The Tottenham legend has his say on Henrikh Mkhitaryan's stunning third goal in Manchester United's 3-1 win against Sunderland
Gary Lineker hailed Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s incredible goal after Manchester United were 3-1 winners against Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
The Red Devils recorded a fourth successive Premier League victory thanks to an emphatic win against their former manager David Moyes and his Sunderland side.
Daley Blind broke the deadlock in the first half with a clinical close-range finish before Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted his 12th goal of the Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.
However, Mkhitaryan scored the pick of Manchester United’s goals with a deft finish after a low cross even though the Armenia international appeared to be offside.
The attacking midfielder’s delicious finish was his second Premier League goal of his Manchester United career so far after his £30m move to the Red Devils from German side Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
Former England and Tottenham striker Lineker singled out Mkhitaryan for special praise after the playmaker’s superb third goal against Sunderland before Fabio Borini’s late consolation.
You may enjoy Mkhitaryan's goal if you watch @BBCMOTD tonight. It's so good they let him off being slightly offside.
