Gary Neville delivers blunt verdict on Man United under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville comments on Manchester United's stuttering form under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville had admitted that Jose Mourinho is likely to feel let down by his Manchester United players following the club’s stuttering start to the season.
The Red Devils dropped yet more points on Sunday when they were pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at Goodison Park.
United have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League since Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
Indeed, his team have only won two of their last 10 Premier League games to leave them in sixth place in the Premier League table and facing a fight on their hands to get back into the top four.
And Neville believes that United’s dropped points against Everton on Sunday should not come as a surprise given how the Red Devils have started the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Neville said: “It’s not a one-off. I think ultimately now we’re getting to the stage [of asking] is that this team? Is that what they are? Because they’ve done it that many times.
“Jose Mourinho will be losing faith in them in the sense that they are playing quite well – but the disappointment is not to see it out.
“It’s a repeat of what’s being going on in the last few weeks.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
