Gary Neville delivers his verdict on Man United’s start under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville gives his take on Manchester United's start to the season under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville has insisted that Manchester United could be in a very different position in the Premier League table were it not for the “fine lines” that have cost them in recent weeks.
The Red Devils dropped yet more points in the Premier League on Sunday when they were pegged back from a winning position and held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at Goodison Park.
The result added to United’s run of stuttering form in the Premier League, with the Red Devils having only won two of their last 10 games in the top flight to leave them trailing leaders Chelsea by 13 points.
United have been held to 1-1 draws by West Ham, Arsenal and Everton in their last three Premier League games.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville does not feel that the Red Devils are too far away from finding some winning form under their new manager.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Neville said: “There have been fine lines with United in these last few weeks.
“The Arsenal, Burnley, Stoke and West Ham games… they could have easily had maximum points, so they could be sat in a very different position.
“However, winning a trophy [this season] is critical.”
