Gary Neville examines Man United positives under Jose Mourinho
The Manchester United legend insists he can see improvements under Jose Mourinho this season
Gary Neville is adamant that Manchester United have made improvements under Jose Mourinho this season.
The Red Devils were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon after Leighton Baines’ late penalty cancelled out Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s first-half opener.
Manchester United have succumbed to 1-1 draws in their last three Premier League games against title rivals Arsenal, West Ham United and Ronald Koeman’s Everton outfit.
In fact, the Red Devils have only managed to win two of their last 11 Premier League games to leave Mourinho’s side a staggering 13 points behind leaders Chelsea.
The ex Blues manager was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor in the summer after the Dutch coach led the Red Devils to a fifth-place finish last term.
While Manchester United have been disappointing under Mourinho so far this season, Neville can see some signs of improvement.
“He [Mourinho] is going to have to change it around,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“It’s going to take maybe a little bit longer than he thought, or than he normally takes. But I can see certain things happening that are better than they were last season.”
Manchester United are nine points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the race to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
