Gary Neville makes honest admission about Liverpool in the title race

Gary Neville says Liverpool have a good chance of winning the Premier League this season

Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool will have their best chance of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Reds have established themselves as one of the favourites to lift the top flight trophy this season as they get used to life under new manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

The German coach led the Reds to a disappointing eighth-placed finish last season as the Merseyside outfit ended the campaign without a trophy.

However, Liverpool’s players seem to be adapting quickly to Klopp’s new philosophy at Anfield and have emerged as one of the favourites to win the title this season.

Liverpool are currently second in the table and six points behind leaders Chelsea heading into the hectic festive period in the Premier League.

And former Manchester United defender Neville has talked up Liverpool’s chances of lifting the trophy in May.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Neville said: “A few years ago I argued that the Liverpool players would never have a better chance to win the Premier League.

“I feel like this season that they may never have a better chance for five or six years.

“Pep Guardiola is going to invest and improve Manchester City, Jose Mourinho is going to invest and improve Manchester United, Chelsea are going to invest, Arsenal have more financial power.

“At this moment in time, the four teams are in transition and in a period where they’re not as strong.

“Liverpool are a damn good side under Jurgen Klopp, their fantastic to watch. We’ve seen them blitz Manchester City and Arsenal. They’re a good side and can blitz anyone.”
