Gary Neville reacts to Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Man City

Gary Neville has his say after Arsenal's 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday

Gary Neville admitted that he was left bemused by Arsenal’s second-half performance after they were pegged back and beaten 2-1 by Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side took the lead early on at The Etihad when Theo Walcott slotted home after being found by Alexis Sanchez.

However, the Gunners failed to find the crucial second goal despite dominating for much of the first half.

Arsenal were made to pay for not netting a second after the break when Leroy Sane slotted home.

City then began to exert their dominance on Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s men took the lead through Raheem Sterling’s low shot.

Arsenal failed to get themselves back into the game as they slumped to their second defeat within a week following their 2-1 loss to Everton on Tuesday night.

And former Manchester United defender Neville was at a loss to understand what went wrong for Arsenal in the second half.

Speaking during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Neville said: “Arsenal were so passive in the second half. They weren’t able to muster any sort of aggression or running or power. There was no pressurising. It’s been really poor.
