Gary Neville: This Man United signing looks very, very good
The former Manchester United defender heaps praise on Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Gary Neville says that he has been very impressed with Manchester United signing Henrikh Mkhitatyan.
The Armenia international moved to the Red Devils in a £30m deal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
Mkhitaryan made a handful of substitute appearances before the playmaker started his first Premier League game in the Manchester derby in September.
However, the 27-year-old lasted just 45 minute before he was replaced following an underwhelming performance on his Old Trafford debut.
Mkhitaryan didn’t start his second Premier League fixture until a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park earlier this month.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man opened his Red Devils account in the English top flight with the winner in a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Ex-Manchester United defender Neville believes Mkhitaryan looks like a very good signing following his performance against Spurs.
“He had a large price tag and people expected he would come straight in. But we have Lingard, Martial, Rashford and Mata in the wide areas. He looks very, very good. It is very early days,” Neville told Sky Sports.
Neville added: “He has been good. He looks like he is clever and sees a pass.”
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season under Louis van Gaal.
