Gary Neville warns Antonio Conte: This could stop Chelsea in title race

The former Manchester United defender believes injuries could halt Chelsea's progress in the title race

Gary Neville believes that injuries are the only thing that could halt Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

The Blues have been in imperious form in recent months after a run of 11 Premier League victories to hoist Antonio Conte’s men to the top of the table.

Chelsea were 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon thanks to Diego Costa’s first-half winner in the London derby.

The west London side are six points ahead of their closest rivals Liverpool in the Premier League title race ahead of the visit of Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Diego Costa has scored 13 times and has made five assists in 17 Premier League appearances so far, although the Spanish centre-forward will miss their clash against the Cherries due to suspension.

Eden Hazard, meanwhile, has netted eight times and has made one assist in 16 Premier League games.

Speaking to the Gary Neville podcast following Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City, the ex-Manchester United defender explained what could potentially halt Chelsea in the title race.

“The only thing that can stop Chelsea at this point of time is a significant loss of form or injuries is the main one. They look so well drilled and confident. It’s too early to hand them the title because the test is injuries to those key players,” Neville said.
