Gary Neville: What Arsenal, Liverpool must do to win the title

The Manchester United legend believes Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City could break ground in the title race

Gary Neville believes that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City would have to change their playing styles to beat Chelsea to the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea are in control of the title race after 17 games in the 2016-17 Premier League season following their 11th consecutive win at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

The west London side were 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace thanks to Diego Costa’s 13th goal of the Premier League campaign to hoist Chelsea nine points clear of their title rivals.

Manchester City moved to within seven points of their title rivals on Sunday afternoon after the Citizens came from 1-0 down to secure a 2-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool, meanwhile, scored an added-time winner at Goodison Park on Monday night to seal a 1-0 victory over Everton and close the gap on Chelsea to six points ahead of Christmas Day.

While Chelsea have shown different attributes in the title race so far, former Manchester United defender Neville believes Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City lack some of qualities of previous Premier League winners.

“Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City would have to do something very different than what’s been done before, and that’s win with a very different style of play,” Neville told Sky Sports.
