Gary Neville: What makes Chelsea much stronger than Arsenal

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville says Chelsea are more reliable than Arsenal in the title race

Gary Neville says Chelsea are much more reliable and have greater mental strength than Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Blues are seven points clear of third-placed Manchester City in the title race following Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens managed to hoist themselves above Arsenal thanks to a 2-1 win against the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to leave the north London side nine points adrift of Chelsea.

Antonio Conte’s side have won their last 11 Premier League games to underline their status as title favourites, including victories over Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast following Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Arsene Wenger’s side, the former Manchester United defender declared that Chelsea are much more reliable than their title rivals.

“At this moment in time, they’ve put themselves in such a strong position. They’re stronger by far than these two teams we’ve seen today from reliability, mentality point of view,” Neville said.

Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last season as Conte took over the reins from interim manager Guus Hiddink.
