Gianfranco Zola issues Chelsea warning about Liverpool in title race
The Chelsea legend is adamant the Blues are still involved in a three-horse title race
Gianfranco Zola has warned Chelsea that Liverpool and Manchester City will remain competitive in the Premier League title race until the end of the season.
The Blues laid down a huge marker on Saturday afternoon after a 3-1 victory over title rivals City at the Etihad Stadium despite falling behind in the first half.
The west London side have won their last eight Premier League games to hoist Chelsea to the top of the table and four points clear of Manchester City.
In addition, the Blues have scored 21 times and have kept six clean sheets during their impressive eight-game winning run in the Premier League.
Former Chelsea forward Zola refused to rule City or Liverpool out of the title race despite an impressive performance from Conte’s men.
“They still remain one of three teams [in the title race]. They have something more than the others. Chelsea have put a big stamp with this performance,” Zola told Sky Sports.
“Liverpool and Manchester City can come back and they will be there until the end of the season because they have the qualities and the organisation.”
Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard scored second-half goals to seal a 3-1 against their title rivals at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea haven’t lost a Premier League game since a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal.
