Granit Xhaka explains how he feels about his start to life at Arsenal
Granit Xhaka has his say about how his first few months at Arsenal have panned out
Granit Xhaka has admitted that he is thrilled with how the start of his Arsenal career has unfolded.
The Swiss midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team since his arrival at the club from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window.
Xhaka has shown promising signs in central midfield for Arsenal and the new signing was again impressive as he helped the Gunners beat Basel 4-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
And the midfielder admits that he is thoroughly enjoying life at The Emirates following his summer switch to the club.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website after Tuesday’s game, Xhaka said: “It’s a good experience, a nice experience.
“Arsenal is a very big club and it’s so much fun to play alongside my team-mates. I’m really happy here.
“I came home after five years. Here at Basel is where I made my first professional steps, I came up and grew up through the FC Basel school.
“Tonight I played against my brother for the third time [too], and it’s always special to play against him.”
Xhaka will be hoping to be involved when Arsenal return to Premier League action with a home clash against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
