Granit Xhaka is looking forward to seeing one of his Switzerland team-mates this weekend at The Emirates

Granit Xhaka has taken to social media to send a welcome message to Xherdan Shaqiri ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

The north London side are currently preparing to host the Potters at The Emirates as they look to continue their recent good form in the Premier League.

Xhaka will be hoping to start for Arsene Wenger’s men as the Gunners look to close the gap on leaders Chelsea.

The midfielder is international team-mates with Stoke man Shaqiri with Switzerland and Xhaka is clearly looking forward to seeing his friend this weekend.

Xhaka posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “The last training before the match against Stoke City. So happy to welcome my friend Xherdan 😃 ⚓#GX29 @shaqirixherdan @Premier League @Arsenal @Stoke City #IWILL #UnderArmour”

Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 14 games of the new season.

The north London side, who beat Basel 4-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, were impressive 5-1 winners over West Ham in the top flight last weekend.
