Henrikh Mkhitaryan opens up on his start to life at Man United
Henrikh Mkhitaryan admits that his start to life at Manchester United has been difficult but he is determined to be a big success at Old Trafford
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted that his start to life at Manchester United has been far from perfect – but the playmaker is determined to be a big success at Old Trafford.
It has been a difficult start for the Armenia international at Old Trafford following his summer transfer to the club from Borussia Dortmund.
The 27-year-old has struggled with form and fitness since his arrival at the club but has recently started to make some more regular appearances in the first team.
Most notably, the playmaker was voted as the man of the match in the 4-0 Europa League win over Feyenoord at Old Trafford last month.
Mkhitaryan also notched up two assists in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over West Ham United in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
And the midfielder appears determined to prove his worth at Old Trafford in the seasons to come.
Speaking in an interview with The Players’ Tribune, Mkhitaryan said: “At the beginning of this season at United, I suffered an injury and have not had many chances to play.
“It would be fair to say that the start of my life in Manchester was not perfect. But there have been many other times when I’ve had setbacks, and I have never given up.
“I will continue working every day so that I can help the team succeed.”
Manchester United travel to Everton on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.
