Henrikh Mkhitaryan sends message to Man United team-mates ahead of Everton clash
The Manchester United summer signing wants Jose Mourinho's side to replicate their EFL Cup performance at Everton on Sunday
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has urged his Manchester United team-mates to keep working hard ahead of their trip to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils will look to record back-to-back victories after the 20-time English champions were impressive 4-1 winners against West Ham united in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Mkhitaryan produced one of his best performances in a Manchester United shirt after he teed up Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Anthony Martial for their opening two goals of the cup clash.
Jose Mourinho’s side are in desperate need of three points in the Premier League after successive 1-1 stalemates with title rivals Arsenal and the Hammers.
The Red Devils have only managed to record two victories in their last 10 Premier League fixtures to leave Manchester United 11 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website after their 4-1 win over West Ham in their EFL Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night, Mkhitaryan said: “The last game we couldn’t score our chances, but now we’ve scored our chances so the difference is that.
“This time we’ve done maybe more than what we have to do and we’ve scored four goals.
“Maybe we could score more but in the end we stopped on four goals and I think we’ve done a very good game and the transition from defence to offence was great. We have to keep working to be ready for the next game against Everton.”
Mkhitaryan moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
