Ian Wright issues blunt warning to Arsenal about Alexis Sanchez’s contract talks
Ian Wright tells Arsenal to tie Alexis Sanchez down to a new contract as soon as possible
Ian Wright has warned Arsenal that they must do “everything” they can to make sure that Alexis Sanchez stays at the club.
Sanchez once again proved his worth to the north London side on Saturday night when he scored a scintillating second-half hat-trick to fire Arsenal to a 5-1 win over West Ham United at The London Stadium.
The 27-year-old has now scored 11 goals and made four assists in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger’s men to leave the Gunners three points behind leaders Chelsea after 14 games.
Sanchez’s current contract with Arsenal is set to expire in the summer of 2018 and it remains to be seen whether he is set to commit his long-term future to the club.
However, former Arsenal striker Wright has talked up the importance of Arsenal tying Sanchez down to a new contract as soon as possible.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Wright said: “They’ve got to make sure that they do everything to make sure he does stay.”
