Ian Wright issues warning to Arsenal after 5-1 win: Be more like Chelsea

Ian Wright has his say on Arsenal's Premier League title hopes after Saturday's win at West Ham

Ian Wright has warned Arsenal that they still have plenty of work to do if they want to prove themselves as genuine Premier League title contenders this season.

The north London side were in fine form on Saturday night as they secured an impressive 5-1 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium to keep to within three points of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2004.

There have been plenty of questions asked about Arsenal’s ability to mount a serious title challenge this season due to their lack of silverware in recent years.

And former Arsenal striker Wright believes that the Gunners will have to step their game up against the big teams, as Chelsea did when they beat Manchester City 3-1 on Saturday.

Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Wright said: “I want to see them [Arsenal] beat City like Chelsea beat them, because that is the only time people are going to honestly believe that Arsenal are ready to really have a run at it.”
