Ian Wright makes Arsenal prediction about Alexis Sanchez

The Arsenal legend is tipping Alexis Sanchez to win the PFA Premier League player of the year

Ian Wright is backing Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to win the PFA Premier League player of the year award this season.

The Gunners striker has been in scintillating form in the 2016-17 season so far to help Arsene Wenger’s side to challenge Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race.

Sanchez produced arguably his best performance of the current campaign after the Chile international scored a second-half hat-trick in a 5-1 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier this month.

The South American forward’s treble against the Hammers drew Sanchez level with Chelsea striker Diego Costa on 11 goals ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.

The 27-year-old has netted two goals and has made three assists in six Champions League games to help Arsenal finish top of Group A ahead of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, Wright backed Sanchez to win the PFA Premier League player of the year award if he can continue his excellent form.

“Alexis Sanchez was amazing again in midweek. He is in player of the season form.

“He is one of those players that get the season by the scruff of the neck. If he carries on like this, I know it’s early to say, he will end up PFA player of the season.”
