Ian Wright questions Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Man United: I’ve been disappointed

Ian Wright has his say on Zlatan Ibrahimovic's start to life at Manchester United this season

Ian Wright is not expecting to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic score 25 goals for Manchester United this season.

The Swedish striker has earned plenty of praise for his goal-scoring form for Manchester United since his arrival at the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Ibrahimovic has already scored more than 10 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men since his arrival in England.

The veteran striker has been a regular fixture in the starting line-up at Old Trafford so far this term.

However, Arsenal legend Wright says that he is not yet fully convinced about Ibrahimovic’s impact at Manchester United.

Asked if Ibrahimovic can score 25 goals this season, Wright told The Sun’s Goals Podcast: “Not 25 goals [this season] – I’ve been disappointed with his link up play and hold up play.

“I didn’t expect to watch him and see the ball come off him so easily.

“As a player of his stature and calibre, I’m very surprised how lax he has been on the ball.”

Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season before they opted to sack Louis van Gaal and bring in Mourinho as his replacement.
