Ian Wright reacts to Alexis Sanchez’s display in Arsenal’s 5-1 win at West Ham

Ian Wright was full of praise for Alexis Sanchez after his hat-trick in Arsenal's 5-1 win over West Ham

Ian Wright lavished praise on Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean inspired Arsenal to a 5-1 win over West Ham United by scoring a hat-trick.

The 27-year-old attacker, once again playing up front for the Gunners, set Arsenal on their way at the London Stadium when he fed Mesut Ozil to tap home the opener in the first half.

Sanchez was Arsenal stand-out performer on the night and he made it 2-0 when he fired home a brilliant second to put Arsenal in control.

The Chile international then scored either side of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s fine strike to complete his hat-trick and secure a thumping win for Arsenal.

Speaking on BT Sport immediately after the final whistle, Wright said: “You don’t know what you’re going to get from Arsenal but you do know what you’re going to get from Alexis. His quality is undoubted.

“I’m just delighted that they put in a performance like that. It’s frustrating that I don’t know when they’re going to do it!”

The result lifted Arsenal up to second place in the Premier League table and kept them three points behind leaders Chelsea after 14 games of the season.
