Ian Wright reverses opinion on Man United signing ahead of Everton clash
The Arsenal legend has been impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's performances for Manchester United in recent weeks
Ian Wright has admitted that he was wrong about Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Manchester United striker’s impressive week.
The Swedish forward scored the Red Devils’ equaliser in a 1-1 draw with West Ham United in the Premier League at Old Trafford last weekend.
Ibrahimovic has now scored seven times in 12 appearances in his first season in the English top flight after his summer move from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The 35-year-old scored twice in Manchester United’s 4-1 win against the Hammers in their EFL Cup quarter-final on home soil on Wednesday night to take his tally to five goals in his last four games.
The Red Devils will take on Mike Phelan’s Hull City side for a place in the EFL Cup final next year.
Former Arsenal striker Wright has criticised Ibrahimovic’s lethargic performances in September and October but the ex England man has admitted that the former Barcelona man has been impressive in recent weeks.
“I’ve been having my go at Zlatan but I thought he was fantastic with some of the stuff he was doing. He scored a really good goal. He played well,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.
Manchester United have won two of their last 10 Premier League games.
