Ian Wright states his prediction for Everton v Man United

Ian Wright looks ahead to Manchester United's Premier League clash at Everton on Sunday

Ian Wright is backing Manchester United to return to winning ways in the Premier League by beating Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by West Ham United at Old Trafford last weekend as they once again dropped points in the top flight.

United have made something of a stuttering start to life under new manager Jose Mourinho this season following his appointment back in May.

His team are currently 13 points behind leaders Chelsea after winning just two of their 10 Premier League games.

Mourinho’s men did return to winning ways in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night when they secured a 4-1 win over West Ham at Old Trafford.

And former Arsenal star Wright is backing United to get their Premier League bid back on track by beating Everton at Goodison Park this weekend.

Speaking to The Sun’s Goals podcast, Wright said: “They are away at Everton and Everton aren’t playing well at the moment.

“It was against a West Ham side that had most of their first-team players so it will give them confidence.

“Everton are lacking confidence at the moment. Manchester United should fancy this game.”
