Ian Wright states prediction for Liverpool v West Ham

The Arsenal legend can't see West Ham getting a result against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon

Ian Wright admits he can’t see West Ham causing an upset against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers suffered a 5-1 loss to Arsenal at the London Stadium last weekend after Alexis Sanchez scored a second-half hat-trick to leave the Hammers languishing in 17th place.

The Merseyside outfit managed to surrender a two-goal lead twice to lose 4-3 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last weekend – their first-ever defeat by the Cherries.

Liverpool will be looking to make a swift return to winning ways after falling four points behind leaders Chelsea after 14 games.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, Wright admitted that he can’t see a West Ham defence devoid of confidence keeping out Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

“I can’t [risk a fiver on West Ham],” Wright said.

“They’ve got to try and get their confidence back. Looking at their centre-halves last week, they’re looking like they’re ready to be beaten.”

Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table under Jurgen Klopp after the former Borussia Dortmund manager took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
