Ian Wright states prediction for Chelsea v Bournemouth

Ian Wright can't see Chelsea slipping up despite the absence of Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante

Ian Wright is confident Michy Batshuayi and Cesc Fabregas can help to fire Chelsea to victory over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be without two of his key players as Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante serve a one-game suspension following yellow cards in a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace last time out.

The Italian head coach is tipped to draft in Belgium international Batshuayi for his first Premier League start of the season after the centre-forward completed a £34m move from Ligue 1 side Lille in the summer.

Fabregas has been used sparingly this season despite some influential performances at Manchester City and Sunderland and the Spanish midfielder is expected to fill Kante’s void for the visit of the Cherries.

Former Arsenal striker Wright doesn’t expect Chelsea to slip up against Bournemouth in the absence of Costa and Kante with such strong options to come in from the bench.

“This is perfect for someone like Batshuayi and Fabregas,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.

“A lot of Chelsea fans have been asking for Cesc to come in. Chelsea will have a good amount of possesion at home so if you can you want to bring someone like Fabregas in. Batshuayi has good pace.

“It could be the perfect game for them both to come in.”
