Insider claims Real Madrid star could move to Italy amid Chelsea interest
Guillem Balague pours cold water on talk of James Rodriguez swapping Real Madrid for the Premier League
James Rodriguez could move to Serie A or Paris Saint-Germain from Real Madrid in the January transfer window, according to Guillem Balague.
The Colombia international is facing an uncertain future at the La Liga giants after failing to secure a regular starting spot under current manager Zinedine Zidane.
The Daily Mirror reported on Monday that Premier League leaders Chelsea are ready to step up their interest in the South American as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options.
The same article states that Chelsea are ready to offer £75m for the attacking midfielder as the Blues prepare to lose Brazil international Oscar to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG.
Asked whether James could complete a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, Sky Sports expert Balague stated that a switch to Paris Saint-Germain or Serie A was more likely.
“Real are very upset with James. When the situation is clarified in January whether Madrid can sign players or not his future will be determined. One clear option would be for him to go to PSG, but he says he has offers, mostly from Italy,” Balague told Sky Sports.
Chelsea are six points clear of second-placed Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
