Insider’s blunt response when asked if Arsenal could sign Real Madrid forward

Guillem Balague has poured cold water on talk of Arsenal signing Real Madrid star Isco in January

Arsenal have no chance of signing Real Madrid playmaker Isco in the January transfer window, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The Gunners have endured a tough week in the Premier League following successive top-flight defeats by Everton and Manchester City to leave their title bid in doubt.

Isco and Real Madrid were crowned Fifa World Club Champions thanks to their win against Kashima Antlers as Zinedine Zidane’s side continue to impress on all fronts.

The People reported this week that Arsenal could look to sign Isco on loan until the end of the season before landing him permanently in the summer.

However, La Liga expert Balague has emphatically quashed talk of Arsenal signing Isco in January despite the Spanish midfielder failing to secure regular first-team football under Zidane.

“In January, zero chance,” Balague told Sky Sports.

Isco has scored two goals and has made three assists in 12 appearances in La Liga in the 2016-17 season.

Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table.
