Jamie Carragher explains why Jurgen Klopp deserves credit after Liverpool win
The Liverpool legend delivers his verdict on the Reds' up and coming talents
Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp deserves credit for giving some of Liverpool’s up-and-coming stars a chance to shine in the first-team.
The Reds were 2-0 winners against Championship side Leeds United at Anfield on Tuesday night after goals from Divock Origi and Ben Woodburn.
The Wales Under-19 international became Liverpool’s youngest-ever goal-scorer at 17 years and 45 days old, breaking Michael Owen’s record from 1997.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was named man of the match after an impressive performance at right-back, including an assist for Origi’s goal.
Liverpool legend Carragher took to Twitter to praise Klopp and his staff, as well as the promising talents for their contribution to Tuesday night’s League Cup win.

Liverpool will face Premier League rivals Southampton in their League Cup semi-final at St Mary’s on 10 January.
The Reds are in second place in the Premier League table and a point adrift of leaders Chelsea after 13 games.
Klopp signed seven players in the summer transfer window after Liverpool finished in eighth place in the table last term.
