Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Everton in Merseyside derby on Twitter
The former Liverpool defender delivers his verdict to their 1-0 win at Everton at Goodison Park
Jamie Carragher was thrilled with Sadio Mane’s late winner in the Merseyside derby after Liverpool’s dramatic 1-0 win at Everton on Monday night.
Ronald Koeman’s side made a brisk start to the Premier League clash but the home side couldn’t capitalise on their dominance.
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino broke past the Everton defence early in the second half but Maarten Stekelenburg denied the Brazilian star.
The Dutch goalkeeper had to be replaced in the second half due to an injury and his replacement Joel Robles pushed Firmino’s close-range effort to safety with 12 minutes remaining.
Liverpool brought on Daniel Sturridge with 10 minutes remaining and the England striker’s shot hit the woodwork before Sadio Mane pounced on the rebound.
And former Liverpool defender was understandably thrilled to see Jurgen Klopp’s side secure a dramatic win in their final game before Christmas Day.

Klopp took over the reins at the Merseyside club following their 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park in October 2015.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss led the Reds to an eighth-place finish in his first season in charge at Anfield.
Liverpool signed seven players in the summer transfer window as Klopp looked to put his stamp on the Reds squad.
