Jamie Carragher sends January transfer warning to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
Jamie Carragher feels that Jurgen Klopp should keep hold of Daniel Sturridge beyond the January transfer window
Jamie Carragher has told Jurgen Klopp not to consider selling Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
The England striker has found his first-team opportunities at Anfield somewhat restricted this season under new boss Klopp.
Sturridge has been limited to just four starts in the Premier League for the Reds this term, with Klopp preferring to play Brazilian Roberto Firmino up front for the Merseyside outfit.
Sturridge scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool this season when he came off the bench to find the net in the 4-1 win over Stoke City on Tuesday night.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Sturridge with a move away from Anfield in January given his lack of playing time for Liverpool this season.
However, Carragher feels that Klopp should hold on to Sturridge until the end of the season at least as he could still play a part in Liverpool’s title bid.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Stoke, Carragher said: “In the box, with the keeper to beat, he’s dynamite.
“That’s why I think from Liverpool’s point of view you wouldn’t even think of Daniel Sturridge moving on in January.”
