Jamie Carragher tells Jurgen Klopp to sign this Premier League champion in January
Jamie Carragher wants to see Liverpool make a transfer bid to sign Joe Hart in the January window
Jamie Carragher has told Liverpool to make a transfer swoop to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City if the goalkeeper is available in the January transfer window.
Much has been made of Liverpool’s struggles with their goalkeepers in recent months following the arrival of Loris Karius from Mainz in the summer transfer window.
Karius was immediately handed the number one shirt at Liverpool and took over from Simon Mignolet as the Reds’ number one but neither goalkeeper has impressed this season.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Liverpool with a host of players as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
And Carragher feels that Manchester City shot-stopper Hart, who is currently on loan to Torino, would be an ideal signing for Liverpool in January.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Stoke City on Tuesday night, Carragher said: “If someone said to me that the window is open and you can get Joe Hart, I’d do it. If I was Jurgen Klopp I would do it.
“If they get a chance to get a goalkeeper who has won Premier League titles, you do it.”
Liverpool’s win over Stoke left them second in the table and six points behind leaders Chelsea.
