Jamie Carragher: What Liverpool’s title rivals will be thinking about Jurgen Klopp’s defence
Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool's title rivals will know how to exploit Jurgen Klopp's defence
Jamie Carragher says Liverpool’s title rivals will be well aware about how to exploit Jurgen Klopp’s defence after Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Bournemouth.
The Reds squandered a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 to the Cherries in dramatic circumstances in the Premier League after summer signing Loris Karius conceded three times in the final 14 minutes.
Liverpool eased into a 2-0 lead ahead of half-time thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Divock Origi at the Vitality Stadium in Sunday’s early kick-off.
However, Callum Wilson halved the deficit early in the second half after James Milner’s sloppy tackle before Germany midfielder Emre Can restored the visitors’ two-goal cushion.
But Ryan Fraser and Steve Cook levelled the Premier League clash with 12 minutes remaining before on-loan Chelsea defender Nathan Ake netted an added-time winner.
Former Liverpool centre-half Carragher delivered a withering verdict on Klopp’s back four after their 4-3 loss to Bournemouth in the context of the title race.
“I think it’s a message to the rest of the Premier League that if you really put Liverpool’s defence under pressure, they can’t cope,” Carragher told Sky Sports on Sunday.
