Jamie Redknapp sends message to Arsenal star after upturn in form

Jamie Redknapp lavishes praise on Theo Walcott following his impressive form for Arsenal this season

Jamie Redknapp has heaped praise on Theo Walcott for his impressive form for Arsenal this season.

The England international has been one of Arsenal’s top performers this season and netted his 10th goal of the campaign on Saturday as he helped the Gunners beat Stoke City 3-1 at The Emirates.

There had been questions about whether Walcott had the ability to play as an out-and-out centre-forward for Arsenal, but the 27-year-old has been deployed mainly as a winger this season.

And Redknapp believed that Walcott is thriving playing out wide for Arsene Wenger’s men rather than a striker.

Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “I was pleased to see Theo Walcott score his 100th career goal.

“He has been more lethal since giving up on being a centre forward and focusing on playing out wide!”
