Jamie Redknapp: This Liverpool midfielder is improving every game
Jamie Redknapp highlights the improvement of Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana
Jamie Redknapp has hailed Adam Lallana’s continued progress at Liverpool.
The England international broke the deadlock in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United thanks to the attacking midfielder’s stylish fifth-minute opener at Anfield.
Lallana has scored four goals and has made five assists in 13 Premier League appearances in the 2016-17 season so far, highlighting his continued importance to Jurgen Klopp.
The former Southampton captain has made significant improvements to his game since the ex Borussia Dortmund manager took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, Redknapp singled out Lallana for special praise after another impressive performance.
“Every time I see Adam Lallana, he gets better and better,” Redknapp said.
“He takes the weight out of the pass, it pops up in the air, he swivels his hips and hits it. Not many players in England are so comfortable off either foot. It’s such a brilliant skill.”
Lallana moved to Liverpool in a £25m deal from Southampton in the 2014 summer transfer window under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
The Merseyside outfit are in third place in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Chelsea after 15 games.
The Reds will make the trip to Middlesbrough in their next Premier League fixture on Wednesday night.
