Jamie Redknapp: Why Chelsea star Eden Hazard is the best player in England

Jamie Redknapp lavishes praise on Eden Hazard following his strong start to the season with Chelsea

Jamie Redknapp believes that Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League on current form.

The Belgian playmaker endured a season to forget with Chelsea last season as he struggled for both form and fitness as the Blues ended up in 10th place in the Premier League table and with their title defence in tatters.

However, Hazard looks like a man reborn this term and seems to have slotted in well to the new system under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old was Chelsea’s star player as the Blues won the Premier League and League Cup under Jose Mourinho in the 204-15 season.

And Redknapp feels that Hazard has already established himself as the Premier League’s top player this season following his sparkling displays for Chelsea.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “I love watching him at the moment. He wants to take games by the scruff of the neck. He didn’t look fit last season but now we are seeing the Hazard of 18 months ago. When he picks the ball up, it’s a different game.

“No one can run with the ball at pace like he does and still have the end product. Hazard is an incredibly gifted player.”
