Jermaine Jenas: Man United signing is getting sharper and stronger
The former Tottenham midfielder has been impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's steady improvement at Manchester United
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is getting sharper and stronger in the Manchester United side as the season progresses, according to Jermaine Jenas.
The 35-year-old centre-forward continued his excellent goal-scoring run after the former Sweden international broke the deadlock in Manchester United’s 2-0 win at West Bromwich Albion with a composed fifth-minute header.
The Red Devils extended their lead in the second half with a superb solo goal after the veteran striker managed to beat two West Brom defenders before firing a low finish past Ben Foster.
Ibrahimovic has now scored a remarkable 10 goals in his last nine games in all competitions to take his tally to 11 in his first campaign in the Premier League following his summer move from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking on BBC One’s Match of the Day show on Saturday night, former Tottenham midfielder Jenas hailed Ibrahimovic’s steady improvement at Old Trafford.
“You never have to worry about the numbers when it comes to Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” Jenas said. “He has scored everywhere he has gone. He has every trick in the book to get a yard of space. He is getting sharper and strong as the season goes on. At 35, it’s phenomenal to see.”
Jose Mourinho signed four players in the summer transfer window following his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May.
