Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink warns Chelsea to forget about Arsenal record
The Chelsea legend urges Antonio Conte's side to concentrate on the visit of West Brom
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has warned Chelsea to forget about smashing an Arsenal record and concentrate on preparing for the visit of West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues recorded their eighth successive Premier League victory on Saturday afternoon after an impressive 3-1 victory over title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea have a reasonable run of fixtures over their next games which sees Antonio Conte’s side face West Brom, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Stoke and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsene Wenger masterminded a 14-game winning run in 2002, which remains a Premier League record.
But former Blues striker Hasselbaink doesn’t want the Chelsea players to get distracted by the prospect of breaking the record of successive Premier League victories ahead of the visit of West Brom.
“I don’t think Chelsea should concentrate on the Arsenal record,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports News HQ.
“They need to concentrate on West Brom. West Brom are going really well. That’ll be a hard game as well. Tony Pulis is doing really well.”
Chelsea have scored 22 times and have kept six clean sheets in their last eight Premier League wins.
The west London side appointed Conte as their new manager as the Blues finished in tenth place last term.
